Our fully equipped fleet

ICU ambulance service

We have four dedicated mobile ICU ambulances – three based in Gauteng and one in the Western Cape. These highly specialised vehicles provide an intensive care environment to transfer critically ill, injured or high risk patients between medical facilities when specialised or ongoing treatment is needed at another facility, following stabilisation after an emergency.

Our Volkswagen Crafters were selected for their large cabin areas, giving paramedics the necessary space to efficiently provide advanced life support to their patients.

Fitted with ICT and IDS technology, these vehicles are custom designed to serve as highly specialised mobile ICUs, giving patients the same level of care they’d receive in hospital.

Each ICU ambulance carries the following:

  • Resuscitation, intubation and multiparameter vital signs monitoring equipment.

  • Adult and paediatric ventilators.

  • Infusion pumps and balloon pumps.

  • Blood gas machines.

  • An extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine for heart and respiratory support.

  • A 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) to transmit recordings to doctors at the receiving hospital.
