The SAGEA awards celebrate the achievements of South Africa’s leading graduate employers, and are based on the results of the SAGEA Candidate Insights Survey 2019, a research exercise in which more than 2 000 graduates participated.
Each participant was asked to name two organisations that in their opinion had the best graduate programme in specific sectors or industry groups with which they were familiar. No lists of organisations from which to choose were supplied to participants.
According to SAGEA, the graduates most likely voted for organisations based on factors such as the specific programmes and roles available, training and development opportunities, and the overall reputation of their brand.
“Netcare seeks to distinguish itself as a foremost employer of choice, and we strive to attract and retain talented individuals, including young graduates, to the healthcare sector. This award is therefore a validation of our collective efforts over many years, and I would like to extend the company’s appreciation to all who contributed to this achievement,” says Peter Warrener, the Netcare Group’s human resources director.
“We place considerable importance on staff engagement and development to empower our people and encourage innovation, critical thinking, proactiveness, continuous development and life-long learning. At the same time, Netcare is a values driven organisation that emphasises care, passion, dignity, participation and truth in our approach to everything we do.”
Netcare’s talent management programme focuses on identifying high-potential and high-performing employees and equipping them with the necessary skills and experience to advance within the organisation.
Various leadership and management development programmes are in place to nurture talent, and Netcare employees are encouraged to continually and consistently perform to the highest standards and to provide excellent patient care through living the Netcare Values.
“We look forward to developing more young graduates and nurturing their talents within Netcare in the years to come, knowing that our approach to attracting and retaining quality staff ultimately benefits our patients and the quality of care we are able to provide,” Warrener concluded.
