Full birth package to be awarded to one lucky mum at MamaMagic Durban

Netcare Alberlito Hospital sponsors big prize for expectant parents

Thursday, August 28 2014

Netcare Alberlito Hospital, a proud sponsor of the MamaMagic Baby Expo taking place in Durban from 29 to 31 August, will be awarding one lucky mum an all expenses paid birth package at the hospital’s modern maternity unit.

According to Sara Nayager, general manager of Netcare Alberlito Hospital, the prize, which will no doubt hold great appeal for expectant parents, includes hospitalisation costs as well as gynaecologist, anaesthesiologist and paediatrician’s fees. The prize also includes a Netcare Maternity Passport, which offers a package of quality antenatal and postnatal care services for parents and the baby. This includes a 4D scan, the baby’s first immunisation at the hospital and the first Well Baby visit to the Netcare Alberlito Stork’s Nest Mother and Baby Wellness Clinic. A mother bag, baby bag and assistance with the registration of the newborn also form part of this prize.

“At Netcare Alberlito Hospital we are dedicated to ensuring that parents and their newborns receive personal care before, during and after delivery. We understand that this can be a very exciting yet potentially stressful period for parents and we are committed to meeting the physical, psychological and emotional needs of parents during this special time of their lives. Because we know that giving birth can take its toll on the parents we will treat the new mother to a pamper session which includes a manicure and pedicure, and we will also arrange a special candlelit dinner for the new parents in the comfort of their own private hospital room,” says Nayager.

Netcare Alberlito Hospital’s 15-bed maternity unit offers a choice of private and semi-private rooms with a rooming-in facility for the mother and newborn. It also has a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to care for babies with special needs. The maternity unit is supported by specialists who work side-by-side with friendly and experienced maternity staff. Kangaroo care, or skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby, is encouraged as this promotes physiological warmth and bonding. Breastfeeding consultants are on call to provide breastfeeding support for new mothers. To complement the services offered at the maternity unit, the hospital also has a Netcare Stork's Nest Mother and Baby Wellness Clinic, which offers a range of integrated services to expectant parents, new mothers and babies up to the age of five years.

“We all feel privileged that our maternity unit will be a home away from home for the competition winner and her family. The lucky winner can rest assured that we will walk the extra mile to make this a wonderful experience,” adds RenĂ© Grobler, maternity unit manager at Netcare Alberlito Hospital.

If you are an expectant parent planning on being at the Mama Magic Baby Expo at the Durban Exhibition Centre this weekend be sure to collect your entry form when buying your ticket. You can collect your competition entry form when buying a ticket. Tickets are R50 and can be purchased through Computicket or at the door and children under 10 enter for free.
