For the third consecutive year, Netcare has been recognised as the overall winner in the private hospitals industry category of the prestigious Ask Afrika Orange Index Awards.
“This national award is testament to our staff living the Netcare values, particularly our core value of care, which form the basis of our approach to serving each individual patient and their loved ones,” says Jacques du Plessis, managing director of Netcare’s hospital division.
“The fact that the award is based on feedback from a large national, independently-sourced sample of South Africans makes this achievement especially meaningful, as it is truly a reflection of the positive impact our hospitals and staff are making in their communities, nationwide.

“We thank the public for the trust they have expressed in Netcare, and appreciate the on-going support and confidence in our services of the communities we serve. We value every engagement with our patients and their loved ones, as their feedback helps us to gain a better understanding of their needs and how we can continue to further enhance their hospital experience consistently across our national network of hospitals,” he explains.
Du Plessis was commenting after Netcare’s commitment to consistent quality in care and service delivery across its national hospital network was recognised at the 2018/2019 Ask Afrika Orange Index awards event, which was recently held in Johannesburg.
The Ask Afrika Orange Index this year surveyed and measured customer satisfaction levels of 169 companies across 31 industries. Now in its 17th year, the awards draw from extensive consumer research measuring a wide range of factors to develop the annual Index.
“This service excellence award recognises the contribution of each of our staff members who live the Netcare values of care, truth, dignity, participation and passion, and strive to touch the lives of each individual we care for in our hospitals. The professionalism and compassion demonstrated by staff, management and the healthcare professionals at our hospitals have earned Netcare this award.
“On behalf of Netcare’s hospital division, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our nurses, administrative and support staff members, our leadership teams, the doctors and other healthcare partners practising in each of our hospitals for their dedication to service excellence and for providing quality medical treatment and compassionate care,” he adds.
“It is our privilege to place the people we care for in our hospitals at the centre of everything we do, and this award is a further encouragement to us to ensure that our every interaction continues to reflect the quality care and service excellence that the public have come to associate with and expect from Netcare hospitals,” Du Plessis concluded.
